The Hindu Makkal Katchi – a nationalistic Hindu party in Tamil Nadu, on Wednesday, demanded ban on the Tamil version of reality show “Bigg Boss” and wanted its host actor-filmmaker Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan to be arrested for tarnishing Tamil culture.
They have filed a complaint petition at the Chennai Police Commissioner’s office seeking the arrest of Kamal Haasan along with all the fifteen participants (Oviya, Namitha, Julie, Aarthi, Gayathri Raghuram, Raiza Wilson, Shakthi Vasu, Vayapuri, Ganja Karuppu, Bharani, Snehan and Ganesh Venkatraman) of the ‘Bigg Boss’ reality show aired on Vijay Tv.
In the complaint, the HMK has stated that ‘Bigg Boss’ is causing the disintegration of the Indian culture and the Indian people who put honour before everything else will not tolerate it. It also claimed that the participants of the show consisting of 7 men and 7 women speak in a blasphemous obscene language and appear 75 percent naked on the screen which will supposedly result in a culture shock for the toddlers to elderly people watching.
The HMK has further gone on to state that the Tamil people place the “Tamil Thaai Vaazhthu ” more than their souls and the show has trolled it hurting the sentiments of millions. The show, which went on air June 25 on Star Vijay, marks the television debut of Kamal Haasan.
