Mani Ratnam who is very much impressed with Vijay’s performance and work in Arjun Reddy, congratulated him and also proposed to do a bilingual film with him shortly. Rumors came that Mani recently approached Vijay Devarakonda for the same role. But truth is that Mani Ratnam is not taking any Telugu star in this multi-starrer movie. He is planning a love story with Vijay Devarakonda next year.
However, Mani Ratnam wants to make a solo film with Vijay. A buzz in the industry says, Mani is planning to rope in Vijay for the subject that he prepared for Ram Charan. Mega power star was more than willing to do a movie with Mani until Cheliyaa released. Given the director’s recent form, Charan lost interest in Mani’s film and queued up Koratala Siva’s film after Rangasthalam 1985. Not having any particular image will help Vijay D to make interesting choices and work with unconventional directors.
